On April 16th, EE introduced an offer that allowed customers to get their hands on a free portable phone charger by simply sending a text to retrieve a code.
The charger, aka ‘power bar’, is worth £20 and allows customers to charge their phones on the go.
Due to an overwhelming response from customers, and an inability to keep up with demand, EE had to ‘pause’ the offer on Monday 20th April.
This means that customers who texted EE to claim their free charger on or before the 20th will still be able to collect one in store if they haven’t already.
Customers who texted EE after Monday 20th April, and those who have not sent a text yet will have to wait until the offer resumes at 8am on 24th June before texting again.
So if you’re desperate to get your hands on your own power bar, but haven’t yet received a code, hang fire, it will soon be yours!
On 24th June customers can retrieve the code they need to collect the power bar by doing the following:
- Mobile customer: Text POWER to 365 (texts cost 35p)
- Broadband customer: Text JOIN plus your EE landline number to 60005 (texts cost 35p)
- Tablet customer: EE said that tablet customers must call customer services on 07953 966 250 (call costs will vary) to get a code.
**It’s worth noting that the power bar is part of a hire agreement. This means that if you leave EE at any point after receiving one, you will be expected to return it. If you don’t return it, you’ll be charged £5. In my opinion, EE have not made this clear enough. **
