Exciting news: I’ve got two new jobs!featured

After spending the last 15 months working as a copywriter at an advertising agency in the centre of Manchester, I’m super excited to announce that I’m about to embark on a couple of brand new challenges. From September onwards I’ll no longer be a copywriter and instead I’ll be a search marketing executive for a smaller agency specialising in digital marketing. If you’re unsure what that job title means, I’ll basically be spending my days helping clients to improve their websites’ visibility in search engines such as Google.

Absolutely love the leaving presents I got from work.

Having been a copywriter for the last year and a bit, I’ve been spending almost 40 hours a week writing content for a broad range of websites and audiences. When I started the job, writing was one of my favourite things in life but as time has gone on, I’ve found it harder to write outside of work and before I went on holiday in June I was starting to feel like I’d hit some sort of brick wall. I got to a stage where I couldn’t write a blog post of my own without analysing and obsessing over every word I typed. So for the sake of my sanity and my blog I decided to take a leap into the next step in my career. I’m not giving writing up completely, I just want to mix things up, learn lots of new things, and move up the ladder a bit.

For a while now I’ve also really wanted a role that lets me work closely with clients, come up with my own ideas, and get stuck into a variety of digital marketing and SEO campaigns. So this new job of mine should be great fun!

I’ve also managed to land myself a second job working on a freelance basis for a small business. I’m really excited about this one too because I’ve pretty much been given free rein to manage the content, social media, and on-page SEO side of things myself. I’m obviously also excited because it should help to give my deposit savings a healthy boost! Life’s good!

Over the next few weeks I should have some interesting new posts up my sleeve sharing everything from job hunting tips to finding the perfect interview outfit in a charity shop! Keep an eye out!
