Slimming World. The Dreaded Second Weekfeatured

The second week of a diet can often be filled with disappointment as dieters struggle to continue to lose weight. In some cases, dieters can even put weight on, even if they’ve been just as healthy as they were in the first week. This is because the body is trying to adjust to a change in eating habits and so it clings to the food that goes in, reluctant to burn it off. Or something along those lines anyway. I’m no dietician.

However, I’ve just got back from my second Weigh In at Slimming World and have some amazing news… I’ve managed to lose another 2.5 pounds! Bringing my total weight loss in my first two weeks to six pounds all together!

I have to say I was surprised considering how much of a bad rep the second week of a diet tends to get. But everybody is different.

We’ve all seen the weight loss programmes where a 30 stone fella loses a couple of stone in the first week only to lose next to nothing in the second despite keeping up his new found healthy habits. But for me this hasn’t been the case, and I’m pleasantly surprised.

I guess my first week’s loss of 3.5 pounds wasn’t drastic, and so maybe I’ve managed to lose a little more because it’s more gradual. Also, since I’m still eating a reasonable amount rather than starving myself or eating nothing but food that is orange or has been forced through a blender all week, perhaps that’s played a part too!

The only thing that I’ve done differently this week in comparison to the week before is I’ve been on a bike ride for the first time in ages. I also had a small can of Koppaberg and several shots of vodka too though, so take from that what you will.
