Slimming World. The First Weigh In.featured

For the last seven days I’ve been eating the healthiest that I ever have in my entire life.

After going from a size 8-10 a few years ago to struggling to fit in a size 16 recently, I finally decided that enough is enough and joined Slimming World.

I’ve had a fantastic first week and tonight went for my very first weigh-in to discover that I’ve lost 3 and a half pounds! Yippeeee!

I did originally think that it would be more with it being the first week, but I’m so proud of myself because I couldn’t have tried any harder. Not a single chocolate bar, sausage, cider or burger has passed my lips all week and I’ve been limiting myself to just one bread roll a day instead of the three or four that I used to have.

I am so unbelievably happy that I joined and wouldn’t even describe it as a diet, because you aren’t depriving yourself and you certainly don’t have to go hungry.

I actually can’t believe how easy it was to stick to it and I’m still not sure where this new found motivation has come from.

I’d like to thank…

In true Oscar style I’d like to thank my amazing boyfriend, who would leave the room every time he wanted biscuits so that I wouldn’t get jealous or be tempted to give up. He’s also been avoiding buying treats that he knows I like. Instead he’s been scoffing Toffee Crisps and other things that I hate.

After tonight’s Weigh In, our Slimming World consultant read out everyone’s weight loss (she only publicly announces people’s weight loss, rather than actual weight) and when it was my turn, I received a round of applause before being asked to choose a target for next week.

I’ve heard all about how frustrating Week Two of a diet can be as the body adjusts and clings onto every pound that it can, so I set my target at just one pound weight loss. After some haggling, the consultant convinced me to set my expectations higher and I agreed to go for three. Not sure how that will go,but watch this space…
